Cookies and browser storage

In force since 2 September 2026.

1. The short answer

This site sets no cookie of its own. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no preference cookie and no session cookie written by glintmyth.com, because the pages are static files with nothing to remember about you. One single value is written into your browser's own local storage, and only after you answer the notice at the foot of the page. Separately, Cloudflare — the network that delivers these pages — may set strictly technical cookies of its own when its security features are engaged.

2. Everything this site can put in your browser

Every value that can appear in your browser as a result of visiting glintmyth.com.
Name Category Purpose Duration Party
gm3-cookie-state Local storage entry, not a cookie Records that you answered the storage notice, so the strip is not shown again on your next visit. It holds a short marker and nothing else. Until you clear this browser's site data for the domain First party — this site
__cf_bm Cookie, strictly necessary Set by Cloudflare to tell a human reader apart from automated traffic and to keep the pages reachable during a wave of automated requests. Up to 30 minutes from the last request Third party — Cloudflare, Inc.
cf_clearance Cookie, strictly necessary Set by Cloudflare only after a security challenge has been passed, so that the same challenge is not repeated on every page. Up to one year, depending on the network's own settings Third party — Cloudflare, Inc.

The two Cloudflare entries appear only if that network's protection is triggered on your connection; on an ordinary visit you may see neither. They are set by the delivery network, not written into the page by me, and they carry no advertising or profiling function.

3. What is deliberately absent

  • no analytics cookie of my own, and no analytics product installed in these pages;
  • no advertising or retargeting cookie, because no advertising is sold or shown here;
  • no social media plug-in, embedded video, web font served from elsewhere, or any other component loaded from a third-party domain — the fonts and images on this site are served from this domain;
  • no fingerprinting script and no cross-site identifier.

As part of the delivery network's standard plan, Cloudflare may add its own page-performance beacon to the pages it serves. It measures how quickly a page rendered and reports aggregate figures to the provider's dashboard; it is not installed by me and does not build a profile of you.

4. Your choice, and how to change it

Answering Accept or Decline in the notice stores the same kind of marker either way; nothing is enabled by accepting and nothing is disabled by declining, because there is nothing on this site to enable or disable. The notice exists to tell you what happens, not to unlock a tracker.

To remove the value, clear site data for glintmyth.com in your browser settings, or use private browsing, where local storage is discarded when the window closes. Cookies set by Cloudflare are removed the same way. Blocking storage entirely does not break these pages: the notice will simply appear again on each visit.

5. Questions and changes

If this page and the behaviour of the site ever disagree, the site is the thing that will be corrected. Write to editorial@glintmyth.com and the page will be updated with a new in-force date on the same day. The privacy notice explains the delivery records that exist without any cookie at all.
