Privacy notice

In force since 2 September 2026. This is the first and only version of this notice; the same date applies to every section below.

1. Who publishes glintmyth.com

This site is published by Marie-Ève Côté, a private individual resident in Prince Edward Island, Canada. There is no company, no partnership and no editorial staff behind it. The first person used throughout this notice refers to that one individual, who is also the person accountable for personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), S.C. 2000, c. 5.

Marie-Ève Côté

E-mail: editorial@glintmyth.com

2. What this notice covers

It covers the pages published at glintmyth.com — the reading room on the front page and the three legal pages linked in the footer. It does not cover Google Play, the games described on this site, or any service operated by their developers. Once you leave this domain, the privacy practices of whoever you are dealing with apply instead of mine.

3. What this site does not collect from you

There is no form on any page here. No contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no comment box, no search field, no account, no login. There is no field on this site in which you could type anything, and no script on any page that sends information from your browser to me.

Equally, there is no advertising network, no social media plug-in, no tracking pixel, no session recorder, no heat map and no analytics product of my own. Nothing on these pages profiles you, follows you between sites or builds a picture of your interests.

4. What is processed when a page is delivered to you

Delivering a web page cannot be done without some technical information passing through the infrastructure that carries it. The hosting provider and the content delivery network in front of it process the following in their own operational records:

  • the address of the page requested and, if your browser sends one, the referring address;
  • the date and time of the request;
  • the type of device and browser reported in the user-agent string;
  • the internet protocol address of the connection, from which an approximate country is derived;
  • technical delivery signals such as response codes, transferred size and the page-performance measurements known as Core Web Vitals.

None of this is gathered by a cookie set by me, and none of it is combined with anything else to identify you as a person. I do not receive a copy of these records in a form that names individuals; what reaches me is a provider dashboard showing aggregate figures such as how many requests a page received and how quickly it rendered.

5. Cloudflare and the hosting provider

These pages are delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., acting as a content delivery network and security layer, and are stored on a commercial hosting account. Both act on my instructions for the single purpose of publishing this site and defending it against automated abuse.

Cloudflare may set strictly technical cookies of its own when its security features are engaged; those cookies are described on the cookies page. As part of the provider's standard plan, Cloudflare may also add its own page-performance beacon to pages it serves. That beacon is not written into the source of this site by me, and it reports aggregate performance figures to the provider's dashboard rather than to any profile of you.

6. Purposes, and consent under PIPEDA

The only purposes are publishing the pages you asked for, keeping them available, and protecting them from automated abuse. Under section 5(3) of PIPEDA the collection is limited to what a reasonable person would consider appropriate in these circumstances, and it goes no further than the delivery of a static page requires. Your consent to that minimal processing is implied by the act of requesting the page; there is nothing further to consent to, because there is nothing further collected.

No commercial electronic message is ever sent from this site. There is no mailing list, no promotional message and no automated reply. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), S.C. 2010, c. 23, governs commercial electronic messages; since none is sent, no consent for such messages is sought or held. If you write to me, I reply to your message and nothing else.

7. Storage inside your own browser

One value is written into your browser's local storage, and only after you answer the storage notice at the foot of the page. It is named gm3-cookie-state and holds a short marker recording that the notice was answered. It never leaves your device, it is not readable by me, and it is not a cookie: it is not attached to any request sent to the server. Clearing the site data for this domain removes it.

8. Transfers outside Canada

The hosting account and the delivery network operate infrastructure in several countries, so the technical records described in section 4 may be handled on servers outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Under PIPEDA a transfer for processing is permitted where the organisation transferring the information secures a comparable level of protection by contract; that comparable protection is provided through the data-processing terms accepted with each provider, which restrict them to processing on my instructions. You may write to me to ask which infrastructure served a particular request.

9. How long anything is kept

  • Delivery and security records held by the hosting provider and the delivery network: a short operational period of no more than thirty days, after which they are deleted or reduced to counts that identify no one.
  • E-mail correspondence sent to the address above: kept for as long as the exchange is live and for up to twenty-four months afterwards, so that a correction can be traced back to whoever reported it, then deleted.
  • Anything else: nothing else is kept, because nothing else is collected.

10. Your rights under PIPEDA

Where information about you exists in the narrow records described above, PIPEDA gives you the following rights, and I will honour them:

  • to be told whether information about you is held, and to be given access to it;
  • to have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected, and to have the correction passed to anyone it was disclosed to;
  • to be told how the information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
  • to revoke a consent you previously gave, subject to any legal or contractual limits, which I will explain if they apply;
  • to have the information deleted where no legal ground requires it to be retained.

Write to the e-mail address in section 1. A request is answered no later than thirty days after it arrives, as PIPEDA requires. Because there is no account system here, I may need to ask for enough detail — an approximate date and the address of the page, for example — to find the record you are asking about; I will never ask for identity documents to answer a routine question.

11. Complaints

If an answer of mine does not satisfy you, please tell me first, in writing, so that it can be put right quickly. Independently of that, you may complain at any time to the federal regulator:

Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
30 Victoria Street, Gatineau, Quebec K1A 1H3
priv.gc.ca

Prince Edward Island has no general private-sector privacy statute of its own, so PIPEDA and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada are the applicable regime for this site. Consumer questions in the province fall under the Consumer Protection Act, RSPEI 1988, c. C-19.

12. Readers under sixteen

This site is written for an adult general audience and is intended for readers aged sixteen and over. It is not directed at children, contains nothing aimed at them, and asks for no information from anyone at all. I do not knowingly hold personal information about a person under sixteen; if you believe such information has reached me through correspondence, write to the address in section 1 and it will be deleted.

13. Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Its pages are static files: there is no database behind them, no content management system, no upload area and no administrative interface reachable from the public internet. Because no form exists and nothing is stored about readers, there is nothing here for an intruder to take from you. The hosting account and the delivery network are protected with unique credentials and second-factor authentication, and the e-mail account named above is protected the same way.

14. Advertising and outbound links

These pages carry no advertising, no sponsored placements and no affiliate arrangements, and they contain no links to other websites. Nothing on this site is paid for by any developer, publisher or storefront named on it.

15. Changes to this notice

If practices change, this page is rewritten and the in-force date at the top is updated on the same day. Since this is the first version, no earlier text is in circulation. Material changes will be summarised in a line under the date so that a returning reader can see what moved.

16. Questions

Every question about this notice goes to the same place: editorial@glintmyth.com, or by post to the address in section 1.
